Important Information for Applicants
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
***Please do NOT spam officers in game about apping before submitting an application. Read through the instructions below, if you qualify, fill out your app & post it. An officer will then contact you shortly.***

1 - Read through this page and make sure we are the right guild for you before you do anything else. Make sure our play times will be a good fit. Make sure you actually want to devote the time and dedication to EverQuest that will be required in an endgame raiding guild.

2 - Scroll to the bottom and complete the fill in form.

3 - If you are applying from cross servers, please do not submit a transfer request to Sony until you are told specifically by Wantu or an Officer acting on the request of Wantu that we would like you to transfer & give you a trial (this might take a few days).

4 - When you start a trial you are given a tag and begin a 30 days trial divided in 4 steps(see charter). We reserve the right to decline any trial member at any time due to class balance need, inconsistant attendance, inconsistant ability, guild input, skill, gear & many other criteria.

5 - While on Trial, focus hard on learning the events we raid, work hard on catching up on any guild requirements because ALL requirements will need to be completed before the possiblity of graduating to Full Member. You must read through all announcements posts regarding guidelines and guild rules. During this time you will be earning DKP for raids attended and have the ability to win items as long as no Full Members want/need the item.

6 - During the last 7 days of you 30 day Trial there will be a Poll on your application. Officers with the input from your application thread and the poll will evaluate your status. If all basic requirements are completed (AA's, Flags, 70% ATTENDANCE AT LEAST!! [80% or higher recommended]. With approval of the officers and the Class Leader.) officers will evaluate your ability, attitude and other criteria. If all officers are in agreement you will graduate to Full Member status. ALL REQUIRED FLAGS must be obtained before an app will make it to FM.

7 - If after 30 days of Trial you still do not have all requirements completed, we will extend Trial another 15 days for a follow-up evaluation. If after the additional 15 days you still do not have requirements completed, officers will make the decision to either extend again or decline the application.

General Information
I am commonly asked if we are open to recruitment, and the answer is both simple and complex. We generally have no problems filling an instance with a few people waiting outside. But even so, we are always open for recruiting, IF the right kind of player decides to apply.

A - Extreme Commitment: We are not a starter guild, we do not accept starter toons. A starter toon we define as someone who doesn't have all their offense/defense aa's done, doesn't have their epic 2.0, someone who doesn't at least have a suit of TSS gear or above, someone who has been in a raiding guild for less than a year. When you make the decision to apply to SoS, you are making a decision to commit yourself to the game of EverQuest to more of an extreme level than you've ever been expected to commit before, which crosses the line into the realm of obsession. We are looking for the type of player that has an extreme passion for this game, and it occupies a huge chunk of their life.
If you read through this page & think to yourself, "Those guys are nuts, how can they expect that kind of commitment out of people for a silly game" then you should honestly take a look at some other guilds. There are a lot of guilds that are endgame, a lot of guilds that farm the same content as us, a lot of guilds that will gear you up with almost the same speed and efficiency that we can. The major difference is that our guild is the most extreme and hardcore guild in the game. We are not looking for average players, we are not looking for good players. We are a guild of the very top, most eccentric, dedicated, obsessed and hardcore players to ever walk the world of Norrath. And that is exactly what will be expected of you if you read through this page and still send in an application. We value game knowledge and play skill very highly. We're looking for people who value maturity and professionalism in their dealings with friends, guildmates, and strangers alike, and those who are dedicated and determined to succeed at the highest level of the game.

B - You must actually enjoy playing EQ, and consider the game of Everquest as your game of choice, excited to log in on a nightly basis. Passionate about playing the game and solving difficult content.

C - Ebay/PA. If you've ever bought, sold or even considered Ebay as an acceptable transaction for any of your accounts, please move along, we'll pass on your application. We are a guild, not a business opportunity for you. Anyone caught will be immediately removed from the guild. If you purchased this account, please dont lie about it, we will find out.

D - If you aren't among the best at what you do, please don't waste your time or ours by applying. We will be happy to teach you the details of the high end game, but you must demonstrate a strong knowledge of your class, longtime experience with your current character, and familiarity with the game as a whole. The encounters that we face every day require extreme concentration and cooperation between large numbers of skilled players. One faulty link can cause failure, if you demonstrate that you are a faulty link for an event for whatever reason, expect to get a lashing for it. We also require that all guests/applicants have a basic grasp of using the mouse/keyboard interface with EverQuest to its full extent. You must be able to sucessfully and efficiently navigate the world of Everquest, without need of someone dragging your corpse, running back to give you a rez, or needing a magician to wait in a zone to CotH you across. You must be able to cast spells through keyboard hotkeys (not clicking with the mouse), and you must be able to use both mouse and keyboard to maneuver (i.e. circlestrafing/mouselook/etc).

Requirements
I) ATTENDANCE: Most important requirement is that our raid time of 6PM - 11PM CST, 6 days a week with all saturday off is a comfortable fit with your daily schedule. We are looking for people who can consistantly hold a 70% minimum raid attendance during those times. It is healthy and acceptable to take one night a week off if you feel you need to keep your sanity, but showing up late or logging out early on a nighly basis is not acceptable, even if you can do it & still hold 70% attendance. Our raid hours are 6-11 CST. If you cannot be online & ready to raid by 5:45, then you might want to keep looking for a guild that better suits your schedule. If you would need to log an hour early each night to get enough sleep for work the next day, again you should keep looking for another guild that better suits your schedule.

II) FLAGS:Apps MUST be Solteris flagged and working on MMM and Crystallos Keys from SoF. If you can't get these flags in a minimal amount of time, you do not have enough desire to be in SoS. Apps are encouraged to have Ashengate/Frostcrypt flags too as some time will probably do this pickup style for gearing newer members / alts. <-- Know your flags. Know what zones you can and cannot get into at the present time. If you can get in, keep up with the raid and move with us. If you can't get in, tell the attendance officer that you are unable to enter & spend that time working AA's or access quests and watch the MOTD & guild channel for raid calls in other zones that you can enter.

III) CHARACTER EXPERIENCE: L85 and 1500+AAs is the aa basic requirement. Some classes may have additional AA requirements due to class needs. Unless you get approval by an Officer and the Recruiting Officer.

IV) ATTITUDE: Maintaining an adult attitude is required. Drama queens NEED NOT APPLY. We raid with the vision that everyone respect each other and help each other for the benefit of the guild. The Officers shouldnt have to hold anyone's hand or tell people to stop with the BS. For the main part we are very easy going. All we expect in return is 100% commitment and 0% DRAMA. Officers arent perfect but we try to do our best without being Dictators. Please respect everyone and work together. Realize that you probably don't know everything there is to know about your class, or the raid scheme. Even if you're a 5 year seasoned raid veteran, you still will need to learn how certain things are done in SoS, and you must be willing to adapt your previous habits to meet the customs of the guild. If you cannot tolerate constructive criticism, or if you get a sandy vagina about people using terms like sandy vagina, do not bother putting in an app. We raid to win, not to socialize and be best buddies. I consider the members of SoS to be the best in EQ. Wearing the tag is an honor. Treat it as such

V) SMARTS: You need a fast mind and a cool head. We are looking for people who can devote the attention and dedication to work through the hardest events in the game. If you like to run the TV while playing or prone to frequent AFK's, a family guild might be more suited to your play style.

VI) MAPS: Make sure you have all the current maps downloaded in the game. Its your job to get you where you need to be safely and efficiently.

VII) INVIS: Many of the zones we go through require invis. Permanent invis from a caster in your group is the first choice, but make sure you always have a back up invis potion or device of your own. Don't stand at a zone line begging people for an invis. No one owes you one. Its your job to manage.

VIII) GATE: Everyone needs to have the ability to gate out on their own. If you can't afford gate, buy the Origin AA. This is a requirement, non-negotiable.

IX) EXPANSIONS: All Expansions are always required as soon as they come out. Plan ahead, pre-order if you want a box version, download the files early so you're not caught offline for an extreme amount of time on patch day. You are encouraged heavily to participate in beta testing of new expansions to give yourself and other guildmates better insight to them as they come live.

X) LEAVING RAID EARLY: If for ANY reason, you know you will not be able to stay to the end of raiding time, you must let your Raid Leader know AS SOON AS YOU KNOW. This is essential to matching targets to raid force, if you did not notify an officer earlier in the evening that you would need to log out early, and then disappear an hour before raids are over, this will be considered a ninja log, and if it is noticed to be happening frequently, you WILL be replaced.

XI) ASKED TO LEAVE RAID: There are only so many raid seats available in instanced zones. If you are asked to leave the raid for a particular zone, do not take it personally, do not assume it reflects badly on your app. All it means is that we need you to drop raid this time. It is highly appreciated when apps understand this happens and do not become offended or argue. Take a TL from a wiz and work on your flags or AAs. And join us for the next target. You will STILL get raid credit if you remain online and work on other things.

XII) ANONYMOUS: Never. Never. Never. If you have the SoS tag, you wear it with pride. In raid or on personal play time, no anonymous. If you don't have time to deal with buff requests in populated zones during free time, you can use /roleplay, but never during raids. If you have either /role or /anon on at raids, you are essentially hiding from buff request and other raid duties, also making our class check inaccurate, so if you are anon or roleplay during raids, you cannot be 'seen' by the attendance program for raids, and will get no credit.

XIII) USING APPROPRIATE CHANNELS: You will be ask to join a channel depending what class you are. Guildchat is primarily used to communicate raiding messages when raiding. If you want to ask questions about a raid, first try your Class Leader, class channel, or group chat. Do not clutter up /gu or raid channel during raiding time with questions. When you see STFU or Clear GC in /gu - that means pay attention, and no more random chat. No exceptions. It means /gu or raid channel is being used for necessary raid info or we need to concentrate. This is not the time for that one last witty comment or it just might be the last one you make.

If you miss MGB buffs or need another, ask for it with a /tell to the appropriate buffer. Do not announce in /gu that you need crack. Its your job to manage your buff bar through tells. Also realize that buffs are generally done by groups or MGB, and if you are needing something extra, the person you are requesting the buff from is doing you a favor, treat your request as such.

XV) FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS: If you are asked to meet somewhere, do not take it on yourself to advance further, go a different route or get creative in your travel plans. Almost invariably that means one dead app and a cr/recovery/delay for the raid or the app group or you will miss out on that target.

XVI) JOINING THE RAID: When you meet up with the raid, be early, put up LFG and use /gu or /say. We will see your LFG. If you have been at the raid for a while and are not invited, send a tell to a officer letting them know you are there and LFG.

XVII) RUNNING THROUGH A NEW ZONE: If you've never run through a new zone - or never run through it successfully - send a tell or group members. Ask them to explain the safest way to get there and then follow those instructions. Maps are essential, but dont always show that see invis hidden in that same spot each time. All SoS members will know the route to get you to the raid in one piece, some better then some others. Just ask.

About your application
Please take your time filling out your application.

Applications with minimal effort put into them will be deleted without consideration.

If you can't be bothered to fill out the application seriously, don't expect us to take your application seriously. If your application consists of one or two sentences, it will be ignored, deleted, and you'll be required to fill out a new one before we bother considering your application.

We want to know who you are and why you want to join us, first impressions are important, so make yours a good one.

You need to understand that your application is a formal introduction between yourself, and Stronghold of the Savages . If your application makes you look like a lazy, half assed person, we're going to assume you aren't the type of person we want as a part of our guild.

We wish you good luck with your application and look forward to seeing you on the battlefield.
